This movie or Little Children?

I LOVED Little Children! In the Bedroom was awesome too, so it's a tough call... but Little Children fits my style better.
Both movies had a similar tenseness about them, though, aswell as characters who seem very... disconnected. I like the plot in LC better... but again, both movie featured unhappy people with many underlying unresolved issues and a lot of emotional crap going on... not to mention the topic of children... however different their plots may be.
I love the subtlety of Todd Field's work. He's brilliant!
Yep, Little Children it is, for sure! Then again, I am a massive Kate Winslett fan so.... What can I say?
Little Children, definitely. Both are very good movies, but for some reason I found myself more intrigued and interested in Little Children than I did In the Bedroom. I rented both, and only ended up buying Little Children to own.
scarlet took a tumble!
This is a tough call because they're both fantastic for the same reason: they take 'average' individuals and place them in uncompromising moral dilemmas.
But one thing's for certain. These two movies contain the most spellbinding performances: Tom Wilkinson's tortured father and Jackie Earle Haley's tortured son. No one can touch either one of them in their respective roles, they're the pinnacle of acting achievement. This level of acting, where you consciously forget you're watching an actor act, is the reason I go to the movies.
Why wish for the moon when we can have the stars?

Little Children is a better film.
I have no idea why 'In the Bedroom' was nominated for BP. It ain't a bad film but the same year there were better films released, films like Mulholland Dr., The Royal Tenenbaums, Memento, Amélie, The Man Who Wasn't There, Training Day, etc. Those films deserved more that nomination.
Both are amazing but I prefer IN THE BEDROOM.It's more haunting.
[SPOILERS]The entire Horror genre was destroyed by sequels[/SPOILERS]
I prefer 'In The Bedroom'. I liked 'Little Children' too but it's very flawed in comparison.

Yeah, for me it's not close: In the Bedroom. Little Children is good, but I believe other directors could have taken it and had similar success, whereas ITB displays an extremely unique style and level of film-making that was all due to Todd Field's attention to detail.
Also, a huge part of it for me is that a lot of the themes of LIttle Children are made fairly obvious to the viewer, whereas ITB rewards the viewer who pays attention to details and the emotions of each character, enabling one to draw out the themes rather than handing it to them on a platter.
I thought "In the bedroom" was far superior than "Little Children".

I like each of his films but in my personal opinion Little Children is way much more superior than In the Bedroom. The narrator (voice over) In "Little Children" was just so chilling

I prefer "In The Bedroom" by far...
