Girls- wud u seriously date a guy like sex-maniac Eddie?

Would you seriously date/sleep with a guy like Eddie (played by Hugh Jackman) in this movie??

Geez- given he's slept around so much for sure he will be COVERED IN HERPES SIMPLEX VIRUS and god knows what other weird STDs. This means :-

-- He will smell (and taste) truly filthy because he has licked so many girls in their weird bits
-- He will be covered in FAECAL GERMS
-- Girls who sleep with him will probably get Cervical/Ovarian Cancer from HPVs
He is just plainly a hive of germy revoltingness..

Girl -- would you seriously date a guy like that Eddie if you knew about his backgroudn of serial sleeping with many many girls?

Did you not notice all the condoms in the medicine chest? I think it was the first time she used the bathroom.

I wouldn't, but for other reasons. I think casual sex is a waste of time and proof of a boring character. jerk off to some porn, then read a book or watch a film - saves time and money AND makes you smarter...;-) And I actually think that THAT's what most guys do.:-)

Still, why all this casual sex in this film? I am sorry, but that does not add up for me. Either you are a good guy with deep feelings, or you're a hormone driven superficial person. I can understand it as a reaction after a break-up, but I still say it's of little value, at best fun, satisfaction with a stranger...okay, if that is all that you are about...I know the women are all grown-ups, still there was one-night-stand-partner anger shown, in the office, at home....and in What's Your Number the guy stops seeing other women when he starts to have feelings for his neighbour, that's more convincing....I 'm rambling, sorry, I just don't get all this Hollywood casual sex is great stuff...does not bring happiness or joy.

I HAVE slept with/dated guys like that before. And guess what, they did not smell bad, they were not covered in cervical germs, and I have never had an STD or HPV. They were actually really nice guys, they just like the ladies a lot, and I wasn't looking for anything serious, either, so it worked out. Besides, I'm not a slut, but I'm not a virgin, either. I've had one night stands. I think it's good for everyone to have at least one of those in their lives.

Besides, Eddie was very honest and up-front about the fact that he was a player. Not that he was damaged - as far as it seems, he only told Jane about that - but that he wasn't in it for anything more than casual sex. It's better that he was honest, makes me respect the character more. Yeah, some girls might get clingy and think they can change them, but that's rare, and generally only seen in movies. He was way better than Ray, who was cheating on his previous girlfriend with Jane.

So basically, if I weren't in a committed relationship at the time, yeah, why not? As long as protection is used, it might be fun. He'd probably be great in bed considering all the practice he's had (And yes, speaking from experience, they generally are).

"Oh my God! You put a living room where the crack den used to be!"

I'm with you. I'm not saying that it makes Eddie a bad person but personally for me it would just be gross to me to know that he's slept with that many women. I guess it's preference really.
