Fascinating that the line “Happy Christmas, Harry” is said in this film while the line “Merry Christmas, Harry” is said in Home Alone 2 which also is directed by Chris Columbus and features music by John Williams.

shareLikely because Home Alone 2 is set in the US where the phrase "Merry Christmas" is most common and Harry Potter is set in Britain where the phrase "Happy Christmas" is most common. I would say Mr. Columbus was cognizant of these facts and used the correct phrase in each film.
