Anti Christian movie?

This movie makes all Christian look like bigots. It's highly offensive.

And it's also rated to be Very Offensive on the Christian Answers, so think twice before watching it.

I just knew someone would start a thread saying this...I am a Christian and this is one of my favorite movies BECAUSE it is so positive (plus some excellent music!).
Especially the Easter Sunday sermon. I don't think God put us on earth to live as robots, Christ certainly wasn't one, He was always stirring things up (no pun intended). It's called free will. Thats why you have the freedom to never watch this movie again if it offends you so. :)

All you and that POS website that you quote do is to prove that you guys are EXACTLY as the people described in this movie, trying to censore anything which does not fit to your archaic ideology.

In other words, your thread and comments only reinforce the negative stereotype towards christians and proves the movie right.

Congratulations!

I don't think it's anti Christian so much as it is anti- *empty tradition.*
The actions of the townspeople in the film do not represent what I know as my own faith anyway. Actually, Vianne's actions did. I think the majority of life is to be enjoyed, and your energy is to be used to make others lives better.

Not all Christians are bigots(not even in this film), but it´s nice to see you discouraging other people from watching it. Why should others make their own minds up about the film when you know better, right?

YEAH, RING911, IT SHOULD HAVE JUST MADE THEM LOOK STUPID.

"This movie makes all Christian look like bigots."

Having grown up in a 95% Christian country, I'd say the movie is pretty realistic then. There were maybe 5-10% who weren't bigots in my experience, merely very narrow minded and judgmental.

But Christian believers shouldn't get upset, I imagine the same applies to most religions--certainly seems so to anyone following the world news. It's the nature of religious leaders [or non-religious rulers who see how useful religion is as a control mechanism] to misuse their power to further their own personal agendas.

Perhaps Buddhism and Confucianism are a bit saner, since afaik they're more philosophies of life rather than based on belief in some guy in the sky.
