OMG you shudnt even need to ask that question. Ariel is the one adn only best. I hate that thing called Melody - she is a poor excuse for a person adn a mermaid, prrfffpphhh, betcha cant tell that i dont like the little mermaid two.....

Sure she's a poor example of a princess and she's a bit selfish while thinking about herself and what she wants. She's poorly dressed, she sets a bad example for her people, she wants to escape Royal trution and disabey's orders.

OH MY FRICKEN GOD! I HATE MELODY!!! I just downloaded the movie and decided to watch it while it loaded. I skipped throught it a bit and found the part where Melody shouts at Ariel "How would you know? You've never even *been* to the sea!!!"

Somebody just pass me the fricken gun already and i'll put her out of *our* misery. GOD! Ariel is the ONLY and will EVER be, the best 'Little Mermaid'. Even when I grow old, I will NEVER show this sad ass pathetic excuse for a mermaid to my child. GRRRRRRRRRRRR MELODY MAKES ME SO ANGRY!! HOW CAN SHE BE SO MEAN TO HER MUM!!!!

Well, I'm done whinging about the fu*ked up Melody and adoring the beautiful Ariel, so, I'm off!

You must remember that Melody is only young and doesn't know any better from an adult's point of view. She didn't relize what was going on or why her parents are doing this just to protect her. Besides you know what teenagers are thinking they are the only ones with the problems, yadda yadda yadda,

umm ARIEL is the one and only oki u cant replace her u cant REPLACE the first one...she is amazing way better and more unique den melody like come on she has RED hair i know dey couldnt make melody have red hair (cheap) but still and she was the one with the good voice from the beginning and ariels story was so much more powerful adn meaningful den melody's

I agree Melody's story was a bit self-centered around her wishes and desires for herself, more youthful and kiddie version for a younger generation.

Ariel's story was more powerful more universal and so mature for young Adults Audience, it has moved all people with her wish and has to go though hardships at the beginning with her father and ends up with a broken down grotto with his rage and anger with her love interest. Ariel was less selfish and was right to have what she wanted plus she was a true women.

ariel. hands down. feet up. melody is selfish and stupid, willing to believe a stranger over her own parents and is willing to steal for the stranger without sufficient evidence that Morgana is really the rightful owner of the trident.

I am for Ariel all the way. Now, Melody is great in a lot of ways, but Ariel just has, what I'd call, just more....of an umph to her. Plus, I love Jodi Benson. Now, I like Tara Strong too, don't get me wrong. But I sort of grew up with just Ariel, in a sense.

Okay everyone now its time to get out your trdents and shoot the typest....

I LOVE MELODY..... Ariel is a thing of the past. Ariel turned into Triton without the beard... I love sequels and if Disney can pump out lion king 55 and 3/4 I will watch all of those. I mean I hope Alriel dies in TLM III... She was selfish, all she thought about was loosing her tail and doing what she thought was right. (the price) I mean she was 16 and wet, literally.

Ok now that I just made everyone have a heart attack and s#$t themselves. Just for the record I love Ariel, and yes she is way better than Melody. She is who we all grew up with.
