An old Facebook discussion about Alexis Bledel's alleged bad behavior on-set

Alexis was extremely shy and sometimes people take that as someone who is a jerk and looks down at other people.
shareThanks for posting this. I hated this show growing up but the rest of my family loved it so I had to endure it for years. I just found Lorelai and Rory fake or something. I know they're actors of course but there was something off about them. It felt like the show was trying extra hard to endear them to us.
shareI agree with Colorado Kid. I’m painfully shy and it surprised me when I learned that can come off as rude or stuck up. I was at a family/church gathering and I didn’t know anyone except my husband and his parents. He has a huge family and the gathering as a shower for both of us before we married. I was only 18 and the center of attention which I hated. I over heard my husband’s grandmother say to someone “Well she certainly doesn’t seem to appreciate this party or all the gifts. Have you even seen her smile once? When she talks you can’t even hear her.” I was shocked and so embarrassed! Even now 20+ years later I have to remind myself even if I am shy or overwhelmed I can still smile and speak kindly to people.
shareI never worked on the show but was part of a production that shot on the same lot during its run. I saw Graham and Bledel a few times, and Bledel was always very princess like. I remember her getting out of a cart by her trailer once and gracefully thanking the person who drove her as I walked by. She seemed nice. Graham seemed a bit more standoffish, but I do remember she traveled around the lot on a bike and would sometimes stop to watch scenes from our show being shot as she was friends with one of our leads.
A good chunk of the Warner Bros. lot was Stars Hollow at the time, and I, having been a fan of the show, loved walking through there. It was like walking into the show.
A nice experience "to be" in Stars Hollow, I guess.
shareIt still technically exists, unless WB reconfigured it. It's at the center of the Warner's lot in Burbank outside of the sound stages, and anyone can see it if they take a tour. I last was there about 6 years ago and most of the general Stars Hollow area still existed, minus the signs and stuff. The little gazebo thing too is there and is fairly recognizable, along with Kim's antiques or whatever.
Again, not sure if it's all still there, but the general shape of the center of town likely remains untouched and you'd be bound to recognize some of it from the show if you're ever there.
