The young kids love Dora. But, an adult relative of mine doesn't like Dora because it teaches Spanish. She's against having everyone (in the U.S.) accomodating to the Spanish language (such as: everywhere instructions are either written or heard in both English and Spanish... especially in California). Coming from an ethnicity where Spanish is not the language, her argument was "When my parents immigrated to America, we had to learn English... Why can't they (Spanish-speakers)?"
It wasn't meant to be racist/prejudice but simply a matter of equality amongst all nationalities. So I hope no one is offended, since it's just one opinion... especially one that coincides with this thread subject.
