I cant belive you guys hate this so much!

I watched the first 2 and loved the series so much i just bougth the rest! I thought the 3rd one was cheap and nasty the 4..UGH worst story i've ever seen!

The 5th however... WOW it was AMAZING! It didnt overuse gore and blood like most of the others, it used good actors rather than just out of college hacks and most of all had a well scripted though out story.

I do see how it wasnt like the rest of the hellraiser series so im guessing thats why people wouldnt like it. Compared to all other straight to video sequals i personaly love it :D It reminds me of Silent hill 2 tbh. Own personal hell etc. Its such a shame Doug Bradley doesnt like it. :(

I also agree. I think V was pretty good. Good hellraiser esque story, creepy atmospherics through out. The CGI delivers a little weak which would be my only true complaint. I thought Pinhead was used lightly and acceptably, with all of his lines being good and impactful, which is how you should use your pinhead haha. There were some random elements I wasn't so sure of, like the gambling scene and the kung fu cowboys or whatever that was... maybe could have been reworked a little. All in all, one of the better ones, which is sad because it did not come with my box set of 9 hellraisers so I only just finally caught it.

Personally i think it was weak all the way around. The only things that bind it to anything remotely Hellraiser related are The Lament configuration Box, Pinhead and the other Cenobites.

Personally i feal this would have been better suited to be some sort of stand alone supernatural suspense flick. It does not rise to the level of Horror and It is clear (to me at least) that this is one of those films that had a popular name attached to it in order to get it made.

Ultimately it is about money. While Hellraiser 3 was the first under the Miramax/ Dimension Films banner that the Weinsteins owned (remember this that the original TWC) "inferno" was the only the second Hellraiser that Parent company (at the time) Disney had financed. and after the fiasco that Bloodline was due to disney's constant interference, and bowing to pressure from parental groups, The mouse wanted a departure.

They got it.

But then again who would be surprised, None of the movies have ever lived up to Barker's original work - from which all Hell Raiser Lore is spawned - The Hellbound Heart. It's just sad that In this movie Pin head is relegated to some sort of Cryptkeepr/ rod serling esque caricature of himself.

But then again Hellbound, Hellworld and Bloodline were all raped by the studio... and the original's budget was far too small to do what Barker wanted.

Even so i still fear a remake - even in clive is directing
