funniest line?

there are so many, but for me it has to be when the flecks are getting ready to drive to the show, and gerry's friend is advising him on great places to stop on the way to philly...

"you can get a ham sandwich at Lee's Comeuppance"...

as in, Gen. Robt. E. Lee, of course...

it's a little hard to pick out, but i was on the floor when i heard that one...

When Parker Posey's character is tearing up the hotel room searching for Busy Bee, and she says to the Hotel Manager (who is trying to assuage her):

"You Obbbbbviously don't know my dog. You obbbviously don't know my dog!"

reply

"We have so much in common. We both love soup."

"Could be worse...could be raining!"

it has to be the judge's comments...absolutely gold! I thought this movie was funny.. i was getting a little sick of the all the obvious stereotype jokes towards the end but the judge stole the show for me

Whenever I'm bumming out, I watch this movie... it's so amazing.

Here are some of my favorites:

Gerry: "Don't water the plants - they're plastic."

Cookie: "How many years ago did he poke me?"

Gerry and Cookie in song: "God loves a terrier, yes He does, God loves a terrier. That's because small sturdy bright and true, they give their love to you, God didn't miss a stitch - be it dog or be it bitch - when He made the Norwich merrier with its sweet little terrier... yes God loves a terrier!" (meanwhile the Flecks' friends are in tears over the profundity of the song.)

Meg walks in an Hamilton and the dog are running each on their own treadmills... Meg says:
"Have you been talking to her?"
Hamilton: "Of course I've been talking to her."
Meg: "What have you been saying?"
Hamilton: "I've been saying, when mommy and daddy make love it's a beautiful thing."
Meg: "...sometimes."

Harlan: "And my brother Otto, he would say, 'I'm a redbone man!' and me, I'd say, 'I'm a bloodhound man.'" (said sooooo seriously and sincerely)

Harlan: "Whatchu doin', bloodhound doggy?" (again, the way he says it)

And one of my favorite scenes is when he's rehearsing with his dummy, and Harlan makes the dummy's eyes flutter and shut as he speaks, and then when Harlan asks the dummy if he's tired, he (the dummy) just shakes his head. It's just that comic subtlety that makes Christopher Guest my hero.

Ok, that's all for now! I want to watch that movie right now!

Oh my god you're so short.

"We both like soup"

Harlan's friend yelling after him as he is leaving the bait store:

"If you get tired, pull over.. If you get hungry, eat somethin!"

there's gonna be a lot of kaki down there.

I'm surprised no one else has said this one yet, but my mom and I thought it was hilarious: the part where the really dumb host finally asks something like, "So, how exactly do they rate the dogs, is it just, like, the grooming, or what?" It's so hilarious that being a host for multiple years he's so clueless…

I feel like Alan Ladd on Easter Island!

You know what i like about you? ... *beep* ALL!!!!

I definitely have to watch this again soon - forgot all the funny stuff.

All right, here's one no one mentioned - the deleted scene with Harlan out in the woods in front of a crappy ole shed. Through the dirty windows all you can see are beach balls! "This is where I store my beach ball collection.." He then describes the smallest detail of some of his beach balls. Also, a plane flies overhead - he just goes with the flow and looks up.

i just love the part with the two gay guys when they are packing for the trip. and the one guy says something like, "why do you need 6 kimonos?, we're only going to be there for 48 hours." and the other guy is like, 7, 8, and puts more kimonos in his suitcase. oh my god. so funny

reply

in the deleted scenes with Scott and Stephen

"Pair of jacks, we're a pair of queens! We win, let's play again!"

and then the face Scott makes at the end is priceless

"I was a boy scout once, and a brownie, until some brat got scared"

reply

Yep, the beach ball one is definitely the funniest in the film for me! The timing is perfect. Does anyone know why they took it out?
