Steve Burnside

What do you think of him?

reply

I didn't like Steve. I agree with everyone when they say that he was annoying and an ammo waster. You are fighting a million zombies...lets waste my ammo on the wall or a zombie who is already dead. As much as I hated him...I think he will play a very important role in future RE games. At the end of the game...Wesker said something about them taking Steves body because it still contained some T-Veronica DNA. They couldn't use Alexia's DNA because she got blown up. I do believe Steve died but he still contains the virus. Wesker will extract the virus and use it once again. This is why I believe there will be a Code Veronica 2. It all makes sense. I don't know...tell me what you guys think?

Oh god, I can't stand him. My least favourite character of the series, easily. I thank both CapCom and Alexia for killing him off. The way he said Claire's name.. 'Clear-uh' and 'I'm sworry' who the hell talks like that?? Also.. his character was a bit too unrealistic. He was NEVER afraid. Anyway, couldn't stand him, though his death was quite sad. Still.. there you go.

Yeah, me too. But remember, we thought Wesker was dead and gone as well. In the extended ending of the game (PS2 only i think), Wesker recovers Steve's T Veronica infected body and says that he 'may bring him back to life'. Kinda like he did to himself i presume

So personally, I wouldn't be surprised if Stevie pops up in RE5 or a future game down the road as a villain.

Do you think Sherry will be a villain in RE5? Maybe she has been brainwashed or something or they did tests on her like they did with Lisa Trevor. It would be awesome if she was a villain but also kind of sad since she was a great character in RE2. Still so excited that she's coming back! And i wouldnt mind seeing Steve as a villain in another game, so long as I dont have to endure any of this: 'Clur-eah, i'm swooooorrrrryyy' ever again, lol.

Ha ha. Steve was such a whiny lil' bitch, wasn't he? Unless Claire shows up in the game though, i don't really see Steve making an appearance. Perhaps they'll have a note about him in the game somewhere. As for Sherry being a villain? Who knows. I hope so. God knows what Wesker has done with her. But if she was some kind of Lisa monster, that would be kinda neat. Then again, she looked pretty normal looking in the trailer (if it is indeed her).

MAYBE Sherry and Steve will battle it out for Claire's attention!

I didn't mind Steve at all. He might have been annoying but he was there for Claire and had her back. It was great to see the relationship throughout the game. I think that it shows that sometimes there isn't always a "Happily Ever After".

I thought Steve was okay. An annoying ammo-wasting little punk at times but overall I didn't really mind the character.
Another poster on this thread found it stupid how they had Claire crying over Steve when he died because of where they've only known each other for a few hours. Be that as it may though, they've been through an awful lot together in those few hours and it's not really impossible for someone to grow close to eachother like that in such a short amount of time, especially when you look at the circumstances. So I can't really blame Claire for being as upset as what she was.

Whenever I hear, or see, the word, "Steve Burnside" I think of Claire crying out loud, "Steve, Steve! [cries]".

What we think, we become.

Man, he was one particularly lame character. His death saved the franchise!
