No. I really enjoyed it. So much that I went out and bought it after renting it.
shareAm i the only guy who thought this could have possibly been the worst movie ever made? i wonder how much sand was Shoveled from the directors vagina. At one stage i thought the main character was going to become a woman, which would have been easier to watch.
sharea lot of it was totally unrealistic but it was well written, good funny dialogue. the kid's monologue at the end is hilarious.
I had never actually heard of this movie until a couple years ago when my husband rented it, and told me it used to be one of his favorite movies when he was like 16. We watched it and he kinda laughed at himself for liking it so much (he said a big part of it was the fact that he was, well a16 year old boy and there was lots of hot girls and boobs). Anyway though, he still liked it, probably not as much now as he did then, but still. I thought it was okay. I actually don't remember it too well now... But I never would have even heard of it if my husband hadn't shown it to me.
lol, he said he watched it over and over when he was 16.
It's just like Gandhi said, "A smile don't cost nothin', Sugar"
I have to wonder about the extreme positive reviews I saw on Netflix about this movie, and some here too. I am hoping that many of these reviewers are/were young like your husband when he first saw it, and if they viewed it later in life would see the error of their ways. I have found this to be true with many of the movies I saw as a teen back in the 70's.
shareI liked it. Not perfect, sometimes a little too obvious written from the male perspective, but overall very good.
shareThis is one of my all-time favorite romantic comedies (Easily in my top 5 favorite romantic comedies). It is EXTREMELY well-written, funny, and honest. It really explains the differences between men and women, and touches on ALL gender insecurities.... it's freakin' brilliant. It shows how we are all human, and lost, and just want to be found.
Aside from all the above... you've got some great eye-candy in Katherine Heigl, Larisa Oleynik, and of course, Emmanuelle Chriqui, and Jamie Pressly... great music, and lots of funny jokes and ridiculous scenes (like the twisting scene between Crick and Matt)...
Totally underrated film.
"Is this a shifter car? I cannot drive a shifter car. What the F--K is going on!?"
Not crazy. A male friend of mine was the one who raved about this enough to get me to watch it. It's a great movie.
shareI sure hope so. If my boyfriend told me he loved this movie and found it insightful I would dump him.
