Didnt know there was a trilogy, can i still watch this first???
I rented this because i remember wanting to see it, but i didnt realize it was part of a "trilogy" as everyone else is saying. Should i watch the other previous 2 first???

You definitely should see In The Mood For Love first. All of Chow's relationships in 2046 are echoes of his relationship with Mrs. Chan in ITMFL. If you see 2046 first, his successive relationships will seem random and pointless. You need the backstory to understand it fully.
