a masterpiece
One day this will be regarded as a classic and recognized as the visual masterpiece it is to me.
I think it's as groundbreaking as Blade Runner in a quieter way, both visually & emotionally.

I finally watched it last night and was enthralled with the entire movie one great scene after another. I confess I'm having a difficult time understanding the complete movie but I do understand some of the themes in it. It is a masterpiece but I wonder if viewers from China & Japan as well as other parts of Asia understand it better than us Americans just like we might understand an American movie because it represents us? I don't know but like others said on here the camera angles and the way the story is weaved and told is brilliant. I'll admit I'm not the brightest when it comes to understanding some movies and there are parts in this one I don't understand. But I promise you I will watch this movie over and over and over much like I have the Godfather or Heat. That said, the director Kar Wai Wong is up there with the greatest of directors.
shareI feel the same way. This was a great movie.
shareI hope this film gets more recognition one day, it's so unique and poetic.

If only it had the budget of Blade Runner. The sci-fi perspective of the movie would be astonishing. For a 12 million dollar budgeted movie, 2046 delivers.
I'm traveling to 2046 longing for a 30 million version......
2046 is gorgeous, slow, and haunting. Like Stanley Kubrick, this movie is full of scenes where the music is as important as any character.

To call it a "trilogy" is overstatement.
