OH COME ON, 6.3 WTF?

Ok, seriously I do not get why there's such a low rating of 6.3 on What Women Want. I would say this gets at least a 7.5. This movie I thought was great! It was put together nice and it had some great actors. Gibson and Hunt were great together and did some good acting. Plus it was very funny at parts and had some good romance to it. I highly recommend it to anyone that wants some laughs and good entertainment.

I think you and I were watching different movies. Six point three is generous. I gave it five.

This is one of the best romantic comedies I've ever seen. Anyone who gives this movie less than a score of 8 don't know sh!t about storytelling on film.

Despite people sometimes thinking it would be great to read minds, it can just be annoying. I guess its just not appealing to a lot of people to hear random character's self-pity or self-aggrandizing.

A lot of the internal dialogue early on was just annoying to me personally. I know you aren't supposed to like every character but it can set the wrong mood for comedy.

Plus you always get the people taking the jokes seriously and then being offended that it was too cliche or insulted the sexes in various ways.

should be around 7 imo.

It was a preposterous little bit of fluff that was built entirely on Gibson's charm and good looks back when he could still pull off charm and good looks. It's like "Little Shop Around the Corner," which "You've Got Mail" was based on -- just a fluffy little romantic comedy that doesn't say anything that hasn't been said dozens of times before.

You will probably disagree. That's the nature of discussions -- they have two sides.

Once again, you couldn't be more wrong.

And it worked like a charm. It was a great film that Mel, Helen and Marisa got a hold of and acted circles around any romantic comedy. It had very smart dialog and not bathroom humor.

This film was light years above most on many levels. Mostly Mel's charisma; he was brilliant. His facial emotions say so much he doesn't even need to say anything. Terrific performances by everyone.

Then when you factor in that some of us never thought Mel Gibson had either good looks or charm, you can see that we wouldn't rate this comedy all that highly, in spite of the decent script. Plus the bedroom voices, especially Mell's, really creeped me out.

6.3 is not a low score, but comparing it to many other inferior comedies, it is slightly unfair.
This is one of the nicest rom-coms ever made. The acting was great, amusing scenes and dialogues, no stupid dirty humour, not too much fluff.

Well, it's up to 6.4, but deserves better. It's one thing to have a high concept idea like this, but another to really do something with it, but this script is full of clever ideas and twists and turns. Really well done.
