I thought the Toros' final routine was superior?

I genuinely do. It was far more interesting than the Clover's. I don't understand why the writers made the Clover's the winners, I thought it would be more fitting for the Toros to do it showing that they didn't need to cheat and such.

The Toros were definitely better.

Remember the magic words: "Please", "Thank you" and "Step off bitch!"

Gotta agree. Just rewatched it today and thought the toros routine was waaay superior. Really good routine.

reply

The Toros' would have won, if it weren't for that one misstep towards the end of their routine.

So, yes, their routine was superior.

reply

It is not about whose routine is more entertaining. It is about how clean the routine is, how difficult the stunts are, pyramid difficulty, how in time everyone is.

The Toros probably scored very high in creativity. If you watch, there is a part where one girl stumbles, that would deduct points.

It would also be silly is the Toros won considering that they had no experience writing routines. It is already unbelievable that they came in second. The Clovers were already coming up with winning routines. It would make sense that they would win.

By the way, where are the coaches?

I had also wondered if the fact that in the preliminaries, the fact that they did the same exact routine as a squad before them had done wound up being a 'black mark' against them--they were given a pass to go, since they were defending champions, but the guy had told Torrance that by rights, they should have been disqualified.

Given that it's referred to at the Nationals (a reporter mentions the Toros' issue at the Regionals), it's entirely possible the Toros went to Nationals that year with no chance to take first place, given the questions raised about their Regionals routine.

reply

Thought they were better as well.

This is my ranking of the routines:

Best: Clover's routine at regionals. Why they didn't save that one for last? It was a grande finale routine.
2nd: Toro's at nationals. They really did incorporate martial arts, ballroom and mime! Very original and well synchronized.

The Toros Routine was better but they lost cause of the preliminaries when they hired spirited fingers guy. They lost some points for that.

Was it accumulative? I thought it was a blank slate in the finals?

reply

I think technically they had a blank slate, but you can't erase what people still know. And people knew what had happened in the regionals, so it may have affected their judgment.

reply

I agree. Compared to the Toros' routine, the Clovers' routine was a major yawn fest. Boring, boring, boring and - oh, yes - BORING!!

reply

i think the clovers had the better routine. i can see how someone could think the toros were the better routine, it's called opinion.

however, since this movie has the toros (and torr) as the main character, there's going to be rooting for them to come out of their shame and come out completely on top.
