I genuinely do. It was far more interesting than the Clover's. I don't understand why the writers made the Clover's the winners, I thought it would be more fitting for the Toros to do it showing that they didn't need to cheat and such.
Why do you single out "the black community", juicebox? I am late to this thread, but if we're talking about people who "shout(ed) racism", it doesn't mean it's always one particular group. Wow!
Erm, because the other cheerleaders are black... Who else would care? Who else cries RACISM when something happens to black people in a movie (or whenever)? The Japanese? No. The Israelites? No. The black community, because it's about being black. Wow!
"I do pretend I am a princess, so that I can try and behave like one."
Wrong! Whites cry racism very often on behalf of the black community. Everyone assumes it's only blacks, but I see whites all the time who think they need to correct everything that isn't in favor of blacks as far as movies go. So yeah, maybe Japanese and Israelites would care too. Who are you to say? And thanks for liking the "wow" so much you had to use it too.
maybe the japs, and israelites would ''cry'' racism if they were getting legally shot or discriminated against on a day to day basis. you ignorant twat
I know this is an old post but I decided to watch the movie today and come to the boards. I am African American but I liked the Toros routine more than the Clovers; their incorporation of the different styles of dance was much more enjoyable. One race does not equal one brain. I thought the Clovers won because it would have been predictable. The Toros have already won many times in a row. Even if they did win I would not have "shouted racism." As a matter a fact when I first saw this movie years ago I was actually surprised they didn't win. The only sad thing here is the previous comment, yours, and those alike.
So did I, and so did most people I know that watched this movie. I get what the writers were doing with giving the Clovers the win. That was part of the story, but the Clovers should have been given a better routine to fit that story. - Malek: It is essentially an asexual process. O'Neill: That why you guys take hosts? Stargate SG-1
I actually did like the Clovers' routine better because I felt like they combined cheer dance and gymnastics more seamlessly, picked music that was more exciting, and had a routine that complemented their music better. I also felt like the Toros' routine was a bit choppy, like, "Okay, here's the dance section... now here's the tumbling section."
"And I guess he won the argument, but I walked away with the turnips."
I agree, the Clovers' routine was athletically better and more compelling. The Toros' routine was good and varied, but not smooth enough.
Even if I did think that the Toros' routine was better they had to lose because it is the moral to the story. They had won for six years on stolen routines. Coming in second with their own routine shows that they really are that good and are authentic contenders, but you have to win on your own laurels. The feeling I was left with is that next year the whole team would all have integrity and come up with their own winning routines. It's about the legacy Torrance leaves as team captain.
Maybe the writers made the Toros' routine superior so that it would throw off the audience on who would win the championship? Maybe they didn't want the winner to be too obvious.
The Clovers' routine was good, but I think the Toros deserved to win. Like Isis said, they had done that routine a million times. There was pretty much nothing in it. Whereas the Clovers performed a brand new routine that they had to come up with from scratch just weeks before the competition. But the judges probably didn't see the journey that we saw.

I can't believe I'm replying to this thread at 2013! Oh well, for anyone who shares the same opinion, I can't blame you. It was good, too. But the loss of RCH was clearly a move to say that the team has learned their lesson.
Clovers won because, even though Torros did a great routine that one time, Clovers were a team that came up with a winning routine at least six times in a row (remember when Torr because captain, Big Red mentioned that they had won six years in a row), and there was no telling how long the routine was stolen from the clovers even before Isis and Torr even got in high school. Big Red likely got the idea to steal from her predecessor.
Besides, in cheerleading, power and control is king. Clovers had more of that.
Oh and give me a break with the ''reverse racism'' victim none sense. For those who really believe that no racism and discrimination exists against blacks, and thinks all we do is whine and cry at the air because we have nothing better to do. Just ignore us black folk and allow us to kill each other from gang violence. Don't worry about what we do, go on about your business-nothing to see here, and I don't really care to hear anything else you have to say.
Who said no racism exists against blacks?? Either you haven't read the thread or I somehow missed one post saying that. Half the time when a white character wins some way (be it for good or bad) against a black character in a movie (or heck, IRL) the black community is quick to accuse somebody of racism. It's terrible, but it's nothing new, I'm sad to say.
Give ME a break about that "I'm trying to turn the tables on you for implying someone in my race is a racist" nonsense. Unless that wasnt your intent, then I'm sorry.
Nobody said all they do is whine. You said it, nobody else, and your interpretation kind of shows what you think about black people more than these white ones (I assume they are) here do.
"I do pretend I am a princess, so that I can try and behave like one."
You think the Clover's personalities were jacked up? Even more so than Courtney and Whitney girl in the Torro's team? They were the worst in my opinion.
Watching this on ABCD Family, it's possible the Toros got edged out because one fo their cheerleaders fell off a pyramid - or whatever that position was called.
Me too! I just watched it again the other night and thought the Toro's routine was much better. I don't care about the color skin of the team--totally judging on the routine.
