Question about Hideki

I really thought this movie sucked, but I was wondering about Hideki, and how he relates to the first movie. I've heard that Hideki is the only thing the two films have in common. What did he do in the first movie? I'd like someone to explain, because I will probably never watch it.

From a feminist standpoint, I really don't understand why people think this movie is so brave to have an ugly woman play the lead when it's obvious that they didn't have enough money to get anyone more attractive anyway. Her so called "attractive, successful friend," wasn't much to look at either. But one the thing I loved was Hideki, the malevolent child. If there is one thing I love in a horror film, it's a malevolent child, and he is the main reason I watched the movie. He was sort of a proto-type for Toshio in Juon. So I am curious about the first film, and where he came from. Can anyone explain this to me?

I would recomend checking the first film out. I have only seen part one. I hear that the sequals are just crap. part one is actually a decent horror film. I know it had me very nerved up and tense. I will answer your question in case you don't take my advise. If you do think you may see the origional please don't read this answer...

Again, I'm not sure what Hideki does or looks like in this film...

*SPOILERS*

Staff from a TV station gets a tape with a girl being murdered (very realistically) and finds the location to investigate. They go to an old military base and break in. It's a very creepy location. Long story short people start getting killed... A hostage who was sent out to kill the intruders confesses (while raping) that there is a person killing poeple there and mentioned that he is actually two people in one. You meet a charecter who is in a suite and is kind of suave. He starts helping them escape. The killer is wearing a camoflauge rainslicker and hood. So you start to assume that the guy in the suite is the killer as well. All but one of the TV crew gets killed. At this point this seems like slasher flick. This suave guy confesses his brother Hideki is to blame. So you assume you'll meet a second person anytime. Then the guy gets chest pains or somthing and you hear a voice coming from nowhere, saying he should have killed her and this and that. (I'm having trouble making this make sense) long story short, freekin Hideki is inside this guy and ends up breaking out of a small wound and attacking the lead female as a large fetus (talking and all) It's very strange and I'm sure this didn't porait it properly. I'm tempted to delete all this and force you to rent the origional...

well, from that I gather that Hideki was a fetus who grew into a little boy in part 2. He seems to be evil inside people that becomes manifest, like in the Brood. This is like in the sequel, in which Emi starts killing people because the fetus in her wants blood.

Thanks for your explanation. That is all I really wanted to know. I've read what the story is in the original, and I think I'll pass. Let me get this straight, someone sends you a snuff film, and instead of turning it over to the police, you decide to get your friends to drive out to the abandoned warehouse in which it was made? I understand the whole killer-in-an-abandoned-building bit. But if a killer wants to get people into the abandoned building, he has to convince them that there is something good and worthwhile in the building. He does not want to tell them from the get-go that he is a killer, and that he is waiting for them in an abandoned warehouse so that he may kill them. I don't think this would be a good idea to lure people in. If someone sends you a video tape of a murder, and you decide to go down to the warehouse in the video, it should come as no surprise to you that there is a killer waiting for you. And more importantly, I have lost all respect for you, and I'm not really interested in watching the rest of the movie to find out if you live or die.

That's actually a pretty good summing up!
