I think it's open to interpretation. As others have mentioned, homoeroticism plays a strong role in this film, so a pederastic relationship between Gal and Enrique is a valid reading. It doesn't have to mean that they're literally having sex, it could just be metaphorical. The various scenes between them make this subtext rather clear, and I think it was intentional.

On another level, Enrique could represent the "light" side of the bunny man from Gal's visions. Don represents Gal's "dark" side because he has a similar past but ended up in a different place, and a lot of elements in the film reinforce this idea by demonstrating inversions. Enrique and the bunny man are inversions of each other. They are both shirtless, masculine figures who are seen wielding a gun in the desert at some point, but whereas Enrique is a human who points a gun at a bunny, the bunny man is a bunny who points a gun at a human.

I think it's a nod to Alan Clarke's great borstal film(s) "Scum," starring Ray Winstone, in which there is some situational homosexuality of different sorts.

It's established that he legitimately is insanely in love with his wife, so I doubt that very much.

I think the kid is just a local he lets hang around, like having a kid of his own. They have a playful relationship but it doesn't seem sexual at all.

I get the impression that you like the idea .. the film gave absolutely no impression of this .. you need to come to your own terms with this!
