Any guys actually enjoy this film?

This is yet another one i was made to sit through with my girlfriend, i was all set for a night of unchartered boredom, and was thinkin of excuses to get out of dodge about half hour in, gotta admit though, although i'll never tell her this, but i actually really liked it!

probably something to do with seeing Piper Perabo girrating on a bar, A room with two of mans greatest interests...Booze, and some of the fittest women in existence pouring the booze, it'slike the dream! you add the FA cup final and you've got a masterpiece!

I'm happy to say I wasn't forced to see this movie when it came out. I infact wanted to see this movie

this was on TNT last night...

it was fun albeit no citizen kane. i'm sure there was no pretense to it other than to be entertaining for a broad (no pun intended) audience. the original poster had it right: what could possibly be wrong with a movie about hot girl bartenders shaking their butts and passing out straight shots?

lighten up. not every film has to be pan's labyrinth...

Im a guy, and its my 2nd fave film of all time!!! i love it!

I am a guy and I like this movie. Yeah its no masterpiece(was it meant to be No its was intended to entertain and that it did) and is a bit predictable but I like Piper Perabo and all the other girls and whats wrong with watching them shake their thing while serving shots to people.

I'm a guy and I thought this movie was decent enough

When I actually saw this, cause I avoided it in theatres, I actually dragged my girlfriend at the time to the one in DC, back in 04, and it was a lot of fun. It might have been a "chick flick" but it had enough T&A for it to be male appropriate lol

i like this film. the storyline can apply to either a male or a female (struggling artist in a new place) so as a guy i enjoy it. also, i think maria bello is a babe!

I thought this film was mainly stupid. I have seen that people have written that its based on a real bar but really, it's bollocks.
A bar where hot girls would happily lie down and writh about on the bar top covered in spilt drinks and general bar crap?
And people go there and don't mind getting ice/water/booze/abuse thrown at them, just because they were stood near some bloke who caused trouble? In New York? Where its normally quite cold?
And then after the girls finish work at 3.30 or whenever in the morning they go to a cafe and all look like they are about to go clubbing?
And the bar manager doesn't mind the staff throwing whisky around like it was water?
And it never crossed anybodys mind to perhaps employ more than one person on security?
And the fire inspector bloke thought that a busy evening would be a good time to come and check the building?

And then there is the stupid bint main character, she can just piss right off. You have stage fright? ok then go home I don't care. Why did all of her demos come back on the same day? Did she send them all to one company? If I was living in that block of flats I would make her come and clean up that crap after she chucked all those tapes down the stairs. And who uses tapes anyway? It was set in 2000 not 1985, get a cd burner, thats why nobody your stupid tapes, because they threw out their tape recorders, that and you're rubbish.

And that australian bloke, he has about 5 jobs, presumably because he doesn't earn much at any of them, yet he drives a mint 69 Pontiac? And binty never questioned that? And did he ever tell her that he gave away that comic to get her a gig? And why would he do that anyway? He can do much better than her, why doesn't he go out and find some girl who he doesn't have to try and help get over her stage fright before she will put out, is this set in some alternate reality where blokes really like a stupid pointless challenge and are willing to give away 1000 dollar comics for a girl they have known about 2 weeks?

Mainly I don't like this film because I watched it last night because I couldn't sleep, and now I'm at work and I am irritable because I'm tired. But luckily I get lots of free time to slate this piece of poop.

And having hot girls in a film doesn't make it worth watching, I'm a grown up now, I would quite like a film with some kind of point, if I want to see hot girls I will look at porn, or go to a real pub, or do anything to avoid seeing this again.

I watched it with my boyfriend last night and he said he liked it...he's a terrible liar so i'm pretty certain he was tellin the truth

I actually own the movie its cheesey, but its good. Its speaks to alot of people who want there dreams to come true and up against insurmountable odds they pull thru.

reply

I own the movie, and I loved it! The actresses/actors were good. They sticked to there character. The movie had a good storyline.

--+ Why so serious? +--

reply

The actresses/actors were good because they stuck to their characters? What do you expect them to do? Try out each other characters? characters in other films? I think a basic requirement of any actor is that they can stay in character for the whole film, that's like thinking a taxi driver is really good for taking you all the way home and not just dropping you off when he gets bored of driving.

You've got serious real issues dude...serious real issues....
