Just watched EB for the first time; Yes absolutely. Julia Roberts performance was pretty good but she overacted several times, and Burstyn's role was WAY harder to do.

Yes. Totally. But she'd already won an Oscar for Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore, so, whilst Burstyn objectively deserved Oscar #2 for Requiem for a Dream, I don't feel too bad for her.
