homo erotic subtext
anyone else pick up on the blatant homo erotic subtext in this movie?

hey it's not ALL of us ("you gays") WTF
shareI didn't pick up any homo-erotic subtext at all in the movie. I mean, I wanted Paul Walker to get naked desperately, but other than that, no. Just a well-done college thriller, no gay subtext at all in my opinion.
I thought it was odd that they each had a male "soul mate" or whatever they were called...
shareWell I'm gay so apart of me wanted to see Josh luck lips with Luke Walker sometime in this movie. But there were parts where I did see gay subtest. The first of course is that all the skulls have male "soul mates" and the 2nd one is where Luke needs help with his tie and Walker comes in and ties it for him while looking him in the face. Other then that I can't think of any other subtest, it's just one of those movies that mistakely is too "male-to-male friendly"
shareWhat's wrong with a homoerotic subtext? What in your mind makes it "blatant" in this movie? Isn't "blatant" a word we use when we talk of something that should be whispered if it's mentioned at all? How would you make it less blatant? Or do you think the homoeroticism you perceive should have been left out entirely?

is guess you mean the bow tie incident? lol
completely agree
No. I'm sure since the poster who "noticed" it is probably gay he'll, and anyone who agrees with him, can find it if they are looking for it(and being gay, they probably are), but ffs...if two guys look eachother in the eye that doesn't mean they want to bang. Wow!! He tied his tie for him...how gay is that?!?!?!?!!!! Ridiculous.
"How'd ya know my name was Mac?" - Mac
1. male-male soul mates
2. cutesy bow tie moment
3. the cage thing - 2 at a time
4. no female skulls
I agree completely. Why do people always have to read something into a movie that isn't there?

This thread is a riot!
I will say that I thought the tie-tying scene was a little gay, but otherwise no.
