Something about player salary that struck out at me
In the beginning of the film when Gene Hackman's character is talking with the owner and he brings up the Dallas debacle where the "coach decided to go head to head with a 8 million dollar QB" even though the coach was right...
I looked up the highest paid player in 1999 and it was indeed troy aikman (Dallas) at a 89mil contract over the course of 9 years...which is roughly 8 mil a year. I find it funny how much more players get paid these days. I believe Joe burrows contract is 275mil and pat mahomes is nearly double at a whopping 450mil
