Actually deserves about 7.9 - 8.3 rating.

I really liked this movie but unfortunately the mainstream is too narrow minded to fully enjoy this ride. Travolta gave one hell of a performance - even better than in reservoir dogs. But people dismissed it as stupid. Oh my how stupid will the very same people feel, when this movie reaches cult status in about 1-25 years.

So I offer to all the haters - forget your prejudice, get the blu ray, pump the volume rad to the max and enjoy this undoubtedly amazing scy-fy piece. Reading a bit of Kafka' and Geothe' beforehand wouldn't hurt. You're welcome ;)

"Travolta gave one hell of a performance - even better than in reservoir dogs"

Travolta was in reservoir dogs? hmm geez I am in a parallel universe or something.

I meant Jackie Brown...

No no, you mixed something up, AFAIK Travolta never stared in Pulp fiction (at least not a speaking part) my friend :) I also mixed up, when I said Jackie Brown, I meant Four Rooms.

reply

Dude John Travolta was Vincent Vega one of the main characters in Pulp Fiction.

reply

Also Travolta was not in Jackie Brown or 4 Rooms. And Battlefield Earth is worthy of the Bottom 100. At least bottom 100 of films with over 1mil budget. Forrest Whitacre wearing a 10lb mop head was bad enough.

reply

How on earth could you not know that Travolta was in Pulp Fiction? It's the only Quentin Tarantino movie he's ever appeared in. And he had a very big part. Where did you get your information from? I'm going to assume you have never seen Pulp Fiction. Maybe you should try watching it.

When the wind blows it's almost like I see her in the Hamptons...

reply

Oh, to the contrary my friend - I think it's you who is mistaken! I've seen pulp fiction (mind you a long time ago) but I fairly strongly believe that it was Harvey Keitel in Pulp fiction as Vincent Vega. An easy mistake to make, Billy :)

reply

Harvey Keitel was the Wolf in Pulp Fiction. John Travolta is Vincent Vega. Why don't you google this? Show me a page or a link where it says Harvey Keitel was Vincent Vega. As a matter of fact, you can go to his profile here or the Pulp Fiction imdb page and look. Don't worry I'll wait.

OK... I googled (well actually yahoo-ed, because I don't use google) and I even found the pictures here: this is quentin tarantino in Pulp fiction:

John Travolta in reservoir dogs:

Here is Harvei Keitel (I couldn't find a pic of him from pulp fiction though):

reply

I... can't believe how stupid you guys are. You actually managed to feed the troll THIS much?

It NEVER occurred to you that someone couldn't possibly be that stupid? I... just..

Your stupidity has given me super-aids.

reply

Oh yes, the classic reply - someone likes a movie that no one likes and I'm automatically a troll? What? BE is great my friend, give it a go :)

reply

You are either a troll or an idiot. Pick your poison.

reply

Are you trolling us or just a garden-variety idiot?

Not only was Travolta in Pulp Fiction and was one of the main characters, he was nominated for an Oscar for it.

reply

Yes Can I join the small group of people that like the movie?

Standing away from the crowd is fun and avoiding groupthink.

Having said that I only gave it a 4/10

reply

Sure you can, but why you gave it such a low score, Billy :)

reply

I gave it a low score because I found myself unintentionally laughing more then watching seriously.

reply

I disagree. Travolta did give a very forgettable performance in Resevoir Dogs, but it was still much better than anything he did in Battlefield Earth.

Here I was wondering whether it would deserve a 7.8 or, God forbid, a 8.4.

Thanks for clearing that up!
