I can't under stand how Thundarr could be constantly with the beautiful and voluptuous Princess Ariel and yet feel no sexual attraction at all. Either he's impotent (doubtful), or he has a "thing" going with Ookla!
Today on Boomerang, the episode played was "Portal Into Time". It begins with our heroic trio standing around the camp fire where they have set up camp for the night.
There are two tents set up. Two, not three. Either Thundarr and Ariel are sharing a tent, or Thundarr and Ookla are sharing a tent, or Ookla and Ariel are sharing a tent. Which is it?
Ariel states that she will be able to get a good night's sleep "...if Ookla doesn't snore."
And now we know.
Perhaps to some extent we have lost sight of the fact that (LSD) can be very, very helpful in our society if used properly. - Sen. Robert Kennedy
Thundarr also never expressed any interest in any of the women he rescued along the way, most notably the blue-skinned Amazons with whom he, Ookla, and Ariel spent a great deal of time. All muscles and no gonads apparently.
This topic is hilarious. I just saw an episode where Thundarr said about an evil woman "She is as evil as she is beautiful", Then Ariel asked him "just like me, but im just beautiful, right Thundarr"? Thundarr says nothing and rides away.... The scene was hilarious but tells something about him. I know Ookla has complemented Ariel several times so he definitely has something for her and Thundarr is either shy with his feeling towards her or just isn't interested in her which would reply to this topic as yes cuz she's hot.
It must also be remembered that--like everything from the Hanna-Barbera swill mill--this show was meant for the so-called "family trade". Which means, no sexual expression at all! That explains why Freddie never scored with Daphne, nor Alan with Josie.
Yeah, I think that scene accurately captures their dynamic: Ariel is attracted to Thundarr but he has other, bigger things on his his mind (e.g., freeing the subjugated). If Thundarr feels attraction to Ariel, he suppresses it.
1) Thundarr didn't want to sleep with his co-workers. (Sensible move that) 2) Thundarr was a eunuch thanks to his time a wizard's slave. (Which would explain why he hated them so) 3) Thundarr is gay. (Nothing wrong with that, and it explains why he seemed to like Ookla more than Ariel.)
No,your all wrong. Thundarr like Conan was a slave , a gladiator and prime breeding stock too sow his seed for a new generation of slaves. After impregnating thousands of women ,he was tired. This fact and the dangers of his new crusade to liberate and protect the humans,he feels a relationship with Princess Ariel to be too risky.Princess Ariel on the other hand has a magic chastity belt her stepfather Sabian put on her to protect her virginity until she was old enough to sacrifice to the Demon Dogs of the Lords of Light. Unbeknownst to her and Thundarr, the Sunsword is the key.
This thread reminds me of an episode of DYNO-MUTT, where the Blue Falcon was surrounded by beautiful women, and yet ended up in bed with the "Dog Wonder"! LMAO at the censorship rules of that day!!
Thundarr likes Ariel but she is still a witch. Simple as that. Thundarr was interested in that pirate queen, he's states that; and knows better to act on that.
