Not an appropriate movie to be made

The holocaust was a very serious and sad thing that happened, so I do not find it a good idea to have made a Back to the Future type teen time travel film about it. If they want ed to make a holocaust movie for teenagers and families, they could have hadit be about a girl who already lived in Poland during WWII and was sent to a concentration camp, rather than a hip American teen from the 90s "magically" transported to Nazi Europe.

There is nothing wrong with this film. It is based on an award winning book that my students read. It not only teaches students about the holocaust but of different literary tools. (Since it is considered historical fiction...not science fiction)

I have to say that I TOTALLY and COMPLETELY disagree with you, and I think you missed to moral of the story. This was not meant to be a "Back to the Future type teen time travel film". This movie was about a teenage girl who was completely unappreciative of her heritage and the things that her ancestors went through. She was not "magically transported" to Nazi Europe. If you had paid closer attention to the movie you would know that she passed out and she dreamed everything that happened in the movie. She met her Aunt Rivka in her dream. She endured the things that her Aunt Eva did when she herself was in the concentration camps because in her dream she WAS her Aunt Eva. It had nothing to do with "being magically transported". Watch the movie again.
