Watched this for the first time in a while last night
Good to revisit the (big screen) original. Nearly 25 years on it still works. 8/10

shareGood stuff ππ
Believe it or not though, this is not the first Ring movie. This one is:

It was but that was for TV I believe. That's why I said 'big screen'.
shareIs it scary?
shareIt's more pervie than anything. π

But yes, it has it's moments. ππππ
Pervie? Sounds very different from the others but I'll give it a try. Thanks for posting it!
shareWell, it's supposedly the most faithful version of the book. So I'm assuming the book is a bit pervy.

OK, I watched it, thanks again. It was pretty good, not that scary IMO but still held my interest throughout. The acting was very good. I was surprised at the differences in the storyline between this and the other Japanese version and the American version which were much more similar to each other but as you said, this one was more faithful to the book. A hermaphrodite?? I wasn't expecting that!
My favorite is the American 2002 version with Naomi Watts. To me, it was one of the creepiest movies ever! I loved how they did Samara's character and seeing her come out of the TV - wow!!
You are very welcome.
I wasn't expecting that!
OK, I blocked out that spoiler. I have to get used to doing that. π
shareVery cool. ππ
I usually only do it in certain circumstances. Something like this would be an appropriate time to use it seeing as not many people know that movie even exists so it's safe to assume that hardly anybody here has seen it.
Also, I believe there were 2 Ring series made and that YouTube channel has the episodes too. I haven't watched them but I will eventually.
