Jonny Lee Miller wasn't right for the role...
....well,at least he didn't do it for me...Edmund Bertram is one of my most favorite characters and somehow Miller didn't fit the bill although he's a good actor and I have no grudge against him.
shareI much prefer him as Edmund than as Knightley. Is it odd that I think he great as an Edmund, the unglamorous younger brother destined to be a clergyman as opposed to the very wealthy and independant family friend who just smolders everytime i read his jame upon the page?

Don't really think he is wearing leather gaiters on his shin and calves in this picture. however if you look up men's leather gaiters, some are very nice looking and could be very sexy and glamorous.

Since he was an outdoors man, he probably used them to shield his trouser or stocking while riding or walking.
