The cast was perfect. Sam Rockwell, Alan Rickman, Sigourney Weaver, Tim Allen, Tony Shahloub, and Daryll Mitchell nailed the washed up actors.

The Alien designs were fun and the use of CGI was perfect. I especially loved Sarris's makeup. His henchmen reminded me of the Ninja Turtles.

The writing was well plotted and the humor fantastic.

It's a must watch.

I agree, definitely above average. Only mistake was they couldn't decide whether it was a kids movie or a grown-ups movie.

The genius of Walt Disney is that, as he said, “There’s not a lot of adult in a child, but there’s a whole lot of child in every adult.” Children today may not “get” the living Star Trek satire in Galaxy Quest—but they evenly will.

The decision about the film’s tone was not a mistake.
