The little girl

She filmed her mother or stepmother putting the poison into her soup. Why didn't she scream and knock the tray over? Refuse to eat it and then tell her father and ave him watch the tape then. Maybe she could have saved herself too.

reply

Because at the time of the recording she hadn't realized yet that the mom put cleaning detergent in her soup.

reply

Then why did she set up the video and hide the tape? She must have known.

reply

When was the last time you saw this movie? She was recording her own puppet show, which she wanted to keep a secret because she was supposed to stay in bed.

reply

Exactly

reply

I always got the impression she wanted to record what her mother was doing. She just did the puppet show as an "intro".

reply

Her mother said something like “stop saying it tastes funny”. The girl knew. Plus, she watched the video to know to show her father. She could’ve said something then. Or are we to believe she watched the vid after she died?

reply

Well actually, that's not true. The mom said, "Don't tell me it tastes funny because I don't like to hear it." That's just the mom covering bases in case the little girl tastes something off in her lunch; meaning before she got sick the mom was a lousy cook so the girl often complained that her food tastes bad, then when the girl got sick the mom kept her in bed and kept her sick poisoning her with pinesol for attention in a sick munch housen syndrome rampage....not many people children included know what floor polish tasted like and there's a reason for that.

You almost sound like you're on the mom's side instead of the victim. I'd hate to see you in real life.

reply

You sound like someone who needs to say something like that to feel good about yourself. That's really pathetic.

I just know if I thought someone was doing something bad to me and I got proof, I would show it ASAP. That's why I asked. It seemed like a plot hole. Is it hard for you to understand? Or just an excuse to play keyboard warrior and insult someone on the internet?

reply

Actually, it doesn't work that way; the mom or stepmother was forever putting pinesol in various areas of the sick girl's food to keep her sick longer than necessary munch hausen syndrome, but she'd only been caught red-handed that one time on that one tape; Kyra didn't have shelves of videotapes of mom pouring pinesol in her food, it was only on the one tape that was in the box that Cole gives her father but the thing about furniture polish and floor cleaner is this; it doesn't just choke you right off; that's why it lingered inside of her body and the mom thought she was getting used to it, or her body building a resistance it can came back and kill you at a later date; it isn't peed out when you go to the bathroom like juice, water, or pop. It's in there to stay and it stays on, which is why she was still vomiting when her ghost meets up with Cole. The rest of the videotapes on Kyra's shelf would have just been different varieties of puppet shows; nothing substantial. Kyra would have died anyways because there was already a drizzle in her every single day.....it's not meant to be absorbed. Then comes the issue where did the tape come from? How did Kyra get when she was already dead? Same way Dr. Malcolm Crowe finds himself in his own basement reading books, texts and listening to his tape recorded sessions from Vincent even though he's not supposed to be there, he's supposed to be in his grave! Shortly after Kyra died, for some reason Mom, Dad, and Kid Sister were out of the house leaving Kyra how shall we put this, sort of 'home alone?' Anyways, much like Crowe going through all of his work and audio cassettes, Kyra finds her last home video; watches it and finds the truth.
Meanwhile, whatever you said about me, I take with a grain of salt because it's true except for the part of me being pathetic that isn't true I'm more educated than you are. But let's do this your way; after drizzle after drizzle of pinesol, what if she told her father didn't believe her?

reply

Because females are only allowed to bring things up 10 to 20 years later for the most financial gain.

Weirdly enough, no one gives a damn unless it's something sexual and thus titillating to read about or see on TV. Folk of either gender can begin talking about a murder that happened decades ago; unless you can provide the cops and/or the media with a heretofore unseen video of the perpetrator icing the victim, no one wants to hear about it

reply

ha! got that right.

long live sensationalist media! (well, I wish it didn't)

reply

Come on now, that's not funny at all....it's victim blaming.

She was an undeniably smoking piece of ass, even if laws written by a handful of priggish white men say that we have to wait till she's 18 before we can get a taste of the goods without fear of imprisonment

reply

Did you honestly just write this thread only to blame a child victim for her own death, a female child at that? What is this? Real Life?

reply

just wanted to make certain you are aware this is a fictional movie, right?

reply

Do you know the purpose of discussing plot holes in movies?
It is not "blaming a victim" to wonder why a certain choice was made.

reply

I hope this is a joke.

reply

I hope so too. I wonder if this is just a sexist troll being a sexist troll regarding Kyra. Incidentally, does he feel the same way about the teen boy who was shot by his friend just before we meet Kyra in this movie------because his death was a lot more self-inflicted than Kyra's was.

reply

Tell me something: Do you feel the same way about the 1970's Teenage Boy ghost who wants to show Cole daddy's gun? Do you feel that way about Malcolm who also died by getting shot? Do you say; "It was the 1970's obviously. Are you telling me that teen and his cousin/friend really ran out of things to do? Couldn't he come up with something else while he was having company; why did he insist on playing with a loaded gun when everyone knows doing that has never ever turned out well? Do you ask that, do you have that energy?

When asking about Dr. Malcolm Crowe do you not ask yourself; How come Malcolm didn't just grab Anna, shut and lock the bathroom door with Vince inside of it and run downstairs hiding together and call 911 from there? Couldn't Malcolm see that Vince was holding a gun and raising it slowly pointing it right at Malcolm? Malcolm could have run, but he didn't, why? Do you ask that, do you have that energy?

reply

I agree that she didn't know. The only reason she was filming was the puppet show. She probably wasn't allowed to be out of bed, that's why she hurries back to bed suddenly when she hears mom coming (and left the recording on.) She inadvertently caught what she was doing, but she didn't realize it at the time.
Her ghost self probably became aware of what was going on and realized it was on her video.... and so she came to Cole.
