Not romantically. I couldn’t buy those 2 being a couple.

He seemed to be the wrong age, height, race and nationality.

I don’t think nationality was a factor. The other Asian actor who played the villain (the one who got his spine broken) could have been with Aaliyah.

Black female, Asian male couples are very rare. I don't think even the writers of this film tried to make these two a couple. They were just friends.

I would have loved an interracial couple that excludes White people for a change, but Hollywood isn't interested in that.

It was more of a deep caring kind of relationship rather than a physical attraction type. I've always loved this movie. I own it and I'll stop and watch it anytime I see it on TV.
