X Bladz salary

I find it hilarious how Val is all proud to be a sponsored skater and acts like a hot shot but only makes $200 a week, which is only about $10,000 a year. Even with free gear that's a joke. Using 1998's minimum wage of $5.15 an hr a person on minimum wage on a 40 hr work week would make the same Val was making.

they were in school - skating is what they loved and was able to pay for it. It's like getting paid to play Call of Duty now a days..

It was obviously a part-time gig and I'm guessing the events they participated in were just in weekends with a couple hour practices after school. But still, $200 a week back in 1998 still doesn't seem that much for sponsored skating

They were high school kids, getting paid money to SKATE. They had what, like an hour or two of practice every day and an event on the weekends, pretty sweet deal at that age.

Exactly...and they got paid that to basically have fun...
