Favourite character?

Ray Winstones gangleader who has gone powerhungry and thinks he´s almighty hunting down deserters was lovely to really hate. The part where he stands up and sings before shooting Rubys dad and the other was a great moment. Jude Law deserved his Ocsarnom,loved Kidman,Gleeson was good support. A few too many celebrities though and Hoffman was just down right annoying.

.. I realize it's a tiny part- a cameo- but she makes it glow- Dame Eileen Atkins.

Maddy, according to the credits: the herb-wise woman who saves Inman's life.. the philosopher who tends goats!

It's quite rare to see so many likeable characters in a film.
I liked pretty much everyone - Ada, Inman, Georgia, Ruby, Ruby's father, Sara.
