AWFUL ACTING!

Oh my word, Keanu Reeves could outshine these guys. Just awful.

I disagree. I think they all performed adequately. They are not all actors (the policeman I think is the only real actor in the bunch) and while they don't shine, I see nothing awful about it.

I strongly disagree, I thought the acting was absolutely amazing.

And to the guy above me, the guy who played The Policeman is actually Christopher Nolan's uncle!

Don't stop that sun to shine, it's not yours or mine.

I was aware of this fact. And the others in the cast were pretty much his friends. My point was that he is an actor. Him being his uncle just made it easier to get him cheaply. The young man's apartment was actually his real-life apartment and another location in the film was Nolan's parent's home.

[The actors who portrayed the young man, the blonde, and the policeman were also in Batman Begins as well as Following.]

Yeah The policeman was noticable better, but yeah its obvious the rest of the cast were either his friends or class mates from film school. Saying that the OP is still right, the acting was awful-but its a bit harsh to judge non actors in that way.

And then i read the rest of the comments:

Lol if you guys seriously think this film showcases good acting then you really need to see more films. I see better acting in eastenders

reply

I thought the actors did an excellent job, especially the guy who played Cobb.

These people are better than the people I worked with on my first films, acting wise.

Stuff like this reminds me of "Movie Poop Shoot.com" from Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back.

well it was a student film

what were you expecting , i don't think they even got paid.

They were at least "paid" by the knowledge that they were a part of Nolan's first film and all the primary actors [except for Alex Haw ("Cobb") ] were rewarded with cameo roles in Batman Begins.

[Actually I think Jeremy Theobald ("The Young Man") actually helped pay for the picture as well as allow shooting in his flat...]

ALL of the actors and actresses rehersed their scenes over and over again with eachother so that they could get a filming the REAL scene in one or two takes. If you truly think this film had bad acting then it wasn't because of lack of effort.

reply

I thought it was rather good from both the lead and the person who played Cobb. I don't know what you're talking about.

Just watched this. I thought the acting was good up until the very end where "Bill" got "angry" with the girl and hit the hammer against the wall. That was pretty bad.. and a few other times where "Bill" is upset, his acting isn't good, but other than that the acting was fine.

RetardoArona-gone but not forgotten. Nvr4get. Send me your thoughts on this unjust tragedy.

I agree with IEatWords - the only one that bothered me was Bill and it was very noticeable when he was supposedly 'upset'.

Such a well defended position. I'll counter equally:

FANTASTIC ACTING!
