Honestly no better shark movie since

As far as shark movies go I really liked this one and I can fairly say there hasn't been a better one since.

Yep it's true, although Open Water had some great elements of real terror, as far as entertainment goes, I agree none have been as good as Deep Blue Sea, I don't see why they couldn't make a 5th Jaws film, anything they make would be better than Jaws The Revenge...

The Reef was a really good Shark movie too. I enjoyed it. I would say it's in the same league as "Deep Blue Sea".

reply

yeah the Reef had some good elements to it, but to me it wasnt as entertaining in the corny / comedy was as deep blue sea

reply

Its crazy how there aren't note of these themed movies seeing as how sharks are terrifying... This is definitely one of the best , cult classic .

Ghost Shark deserved an Oscar.

You seriously thought Jaws: The Revenge was better than this? The entire set-up for that movie was downright illogical, full of plot-holes, pointless filler is overused despite a short running time of 80 minutes, the attempts at creating scares completely fall flat and the special effects are a complete joke. The CGI sharks in Deep Blue Sea weren't always very good but they sure triumph over the plastic buoyant shark that floats, roars, target's specific individuals and explodes when speared by a boats prow.

Target’s is possessive. Targets is plural. Thank you

The Meg.

Might want to polish that crystal ball.

Oh, I would definitely take Deep Blue Sea over The Meg.

The Meg was a decent Saturday afternoon matinee, but I was disappointed with it and found it a little boring. Deep Blue Sea on the other hand, while not being a great film, feels like it has a little more substance and is a more interesting and entertaining movie.

I doubt I will ever watch The Meg again, but I own Deep Blue Sea on Blu-Ray. It's easily one of Renny Harlin's better films.

Completely agree. I think there have been three shark movies worth owning. Jaws, the greatest film ever. Jaws 2, which is a more than decent sequel. And Deep Blue Sea, which is a well made thriller with an amazing mechanical tiger shark.
