The most underrated Bond film?

Recently watched this again on Bluray and it's definitely one of the best Brosnan Bonds.

Story and villain(s)are very good, Pierce Brosnan's best performance as 007, great action sequences that don't go too over the top, a wonderful score and one of the best pre-credit sequences of all the films.

The main criticism this film gets is Denise Richards performance. Well i think she's fine in the film in a frankly underwritten part.

Was it a millionaire who said "Imagine no possessions"?

Yes, it's a very underrated Bond film, it has a great character driven story, and fantastic performances for the most part, and while Denise Richards isn't good, her role isn't a huge one and it doesn't hurt the film imo.

reply

Absolutely, great Bond, solid, Brosnan owns that role man.

reply

I think it is underrated but Denise Richards performance is pretty awful, and as much as I like the story and Bronson in this one, the cinematography and action scenes are pretty dull.

TWINE, AVTAK, TND and FYEO are severely underrated.

May as well visit the forums in my signature to discuss Bond since IMDB boards are closing down. Though it is more adult orientated, so thick skinned people advised only. They don't ban people for petty reasons like other Bond forums.

This movie isn't nearly as bad as everyone says it is but I always found Diamonds Are Forever to the most underrated.

reply

No, that's The Living Daylights. This one is Brosnan's second best, though.

reply

Why do you like TLD so much strat?

reply

Because it has a good combination of humour, action and realism. I'm one of the few who seems to appreciate Dalton's portrayal of the character.

I have to point out that I'm not really a James Bond fan, but I do enjoy some of the movies and have an opinion on the different actors that portrayed the character.

reply

I don´t mind Dalton either, I just always thought Licence to Kill was the better of the Dalton films. It´s interesting to find someone liking The Living Daylights though.

reply

LTK was definitely not bad. But it just isn't as much fun and the first act (besides the opening) doesn't really feel like a Bond movie.

This is both my fave Bond film, and honestly, one of the only ones I actually like. Most of them have bored me, or they looked dumb. I don't dare watch Daniel "I'm-a-blond-dumbass-who-uses-my-fists" Craig's crap films.
