How did I know someone was going to mention this? I just watched the uncut version for the first time, and my main thought was "well, there's five seconds of the '30 minutes of never-before-seen footage'. It's kind of pathetic that they just *had* to include that." I would have been much happier if they'd included Feyd's birthday duel instead.
Besides, I'm surprised no one made comment about the large number of butt-cracks visible in the same scene. Grow up.
Fair point i-wend, they didn't really need to show her breasts as we could already see she was topless and the whole point of that clip was to show Paul's natural male attraction to her. Showing her breats did seem fairly gratuitous as it could have simply been implied as was the case in the uncut version.

shareI don't think they added any footage. In the edited version, they zoomed in and showed her from the shoulders up, so it's the same scene, but without the needless censorship.
For me, it's not a bad thing. I have some other movies and shows that I know have been edited for TV and I can't bring myself to watch them if I have access to the unedited versions.

I was surprised how low they were, they were the breasts of a 70 year old woman.
Large natural breasts hang low, and there's nothing wrong with that. The actress was 29 or 30 during filming.
But I thought she was totally miscast (though I did appreciate the subject of this discussion) -- I pictured Chani as much younger and more rat-like, some how. Sean Young was better casting, back in '84.
