Do Texas high schools not believe in field goals?

I'm not a football expert...

But the Coyotes appeared to be in field goal range for the final play. So why did they risk the game when they could have gotten the 3 and gone into OT?

lol for people who think like this are not very smart.

You use whichever method you can to win that is the whole point and if doing it via field goals is the way so be it.
