Really, Quack Pack is the best cartoon I've seen, and trust me, I've seen A LOT of cartoons. I don't understand why people didn't like it very much, it owns IMO. I wish they continue the series in the next 2-3 years, since i see there are a lot of people that like it (maybe someone will make an online petition and when it gets enough votes present it to Disney, lol)... sadly, i don't know if that'll happen (but i want it to happen SO DAMN MUCH).
I know completly what you mean, i dont know why people didn't like it very much, it seems like a lot of people would love it. I seriously miss this show, and haft to watch it on youtube, finely people put some stuff up on youtube. I got really excited :) They should put it back on the air though.
I think it's the same reason people don't like the 2003 version of the Ninja Turtles (that I actually do like a bit more than the "original", it's closer to the comic book version, has better animation overall and Usagi's cameos kick ass).
My point is, people sat down, watched Quack Pack expecting a new Ducktales. But they didn't get that and became disapointed.
What they didn't understand was that this show is more based on the old Donald Duck cartoons, instead of the Carl Barks comic books wich inspired DuckTales. Personally, I love both series. DuckTales for it's adventures and Quack Pack for it's humour. I mean, how can you NOT like a comedy show with the following piece of dialouge: "But, you don't know how to fly a plane." "Negative thinking ain't gonna help this situation."
Bottomline, I love Quack Pack, not everyone does, but I do. And to me, that's all that matters.
I'll do my best to explain my position, I did not like this show. I grew up watching both Ducktales and Quack Pack, loved Ducktales but Quack Pack never did anything for me. The stories weren't as interesting, in fact I got bored with most of them. Huey, Duwey and Louie (I assume that's how you spell their names) were completely unlikeable to me. The fact that my favorite character Scrooge McDuck wasn't in it didn't help things. I never felt like I was seeing enough of Donald Duck (he's more of a side character in this). However this cartoon was inspired by the origianl cartoons (which I like) and not the old comics that inspired Ducktales., ok fair enough except the original cartoons were funny but this show just had douchey characters who were tiring to sound hip and cool. Even as a kid I felt they were pandering to me.
So ya I don't care for the show, it's fine if other people like the show, I just wanted to try and explain why I personally didn't like the show and probably why others didn't like the show either.
That is fair enough. I used to watch "Quack Pack" back then, if it was on. However, this was never my favorite show...
I guess I never could get used to the weird idea of anthropomorpic ducks living in the same universe as humans. Even in the old cinematic cartoons, it was pretty rare that Donald Duck interacted directly with a human character. And it was really rare that we saw any human's face in his cartoons from that era. I can only think of three examples of that. And I don't believe his nephews ever interacted with a human. "Quack Pack" overdid this, for sure.
Furthermore, I agree with you that this show tried too hard to be hip and cool and modern with the kids at the time. But even through I was a kid at the time, I think I have always preferred the old cinematic cartoons and "Duck Tales". And it sure seems like most people remember this show as mediocre at best, and I have to join the consensus here. So as much as I appreciate that Donald and Daisy and Ludwig von Drake got a place on a TV show, that they didn't get before this, and as much as I liked the theme song, "Quack Pack" failed on several other levels to me.
