Great underrated film!

Yeah I saw this last night and really enjoyed it.

I actually watched it because I saw a short clip with Jonathan Rhys Meyers, who I've loved since Velvet Goldmine, in youtube and it triggered my curiosity.

Wow couldnt believe it was directed by Ang Lee and the cast cast lineup:

Tobey Maguire
Jeffrey Wright
Skeet Ulrich
Jewel
Jonathan Rhys Meyers
Simon Baker
Jim Caveziel
Mark Ruffalo
Tom Wilkinson etc

Very underrated film, and I say that because I had never heard of it before.

I have to say I loved Jonathan Rhys Meyers character in this film. He was so 'strikingly beautiful', somewhat effeminate looking, angelic even, yet he was the most menacing and terrifying character out of all of them.

Jewel was pretty good too, I didn't even know she was also an actress.

Jeffrey Wright also stood out. He really hasn't changed that much throughout the years, as he more or less looks the same in Westworld.

So are there any Moviechatters admirers of this film? I'm not American so I don't know the ins and outs of the American Civil War, but it seemed pretty accurate in that they were portraying a border town where loyalties were more based on friendships than political beliefs.

I just saw it as well, and was super suprised at how good it was. I had no idea what was going on in the historical sense, so I needed Wikipedia, but I found the film really compelling.
