I've seen this movie a dozen times and I just could never buy it. Good actor. But doesn't fit the bill

I disagree. And I actually went to high school in a small town in Ohio in the 90s where high school football was everything. He fits the bill. Remember, he's supposed to be an amateur, a kid. Good, yeah, but a big fish in a small pond nonetheless. This isn't supposed to look like someone who's in the prime of a career with the NFL.

Ehhhh disagree. When it comes to "star athletes" in movies I'm picky. Call it a small film nitpick of mine
