No, I'd have to say "favorite movie ever", this and Fight Club. xDD

reply

This movie is quite good.

Worst movie ever is probably "Adventures of Shark Boy and Lava Girl".

I bought that one for my daughter. She loves it, I cannot even be in the same room when she watches it. Horrid.

Unless you're just using movies aimed at kinds, I'd have to say the worst I've seen is Birth. The plot goesin a circle! It ends up exactly the way it began, and nothing is accomplished except for some very hurt feelings and some very confused people watching.

In films aimed at kids...Shark Tale, I s'pose. But sadly there are a lot of them.

thats rubbish.
its a good fun film. it just doesnt compare to the disney classics.

and final fantasy movie is amazing. people complain because it has nothing to do with the games.

reply

pfft! the worst movie ever
people who said that obviously haven't seen many movies because there are a LOT worse movies than Treasure Planet. I actually liked Treasure Planet. They made it really well. The hand-drawn animation combined with CG animation was actually really good. Probably the only time i'll ever say that about a disney movie. lol

That may be true, but it wasn't because the movie was bad. It was just horrible marketing.

That doesn't even make sense. You could have, say, a book that nobody ever read and it would still be fantastic.

I'm saying the reason it flopped was because no one saw it.

True. I guess that does make sense after all. :P

Mother, do you think they'll like this song?

I don't think the OP is asking whether Treasure Planet is the "worst movie ever," but whether it had the "worst box office performance ever." Disney spent 10 years and $150m creating Treasure Planet, yet it only grossed around $30m domestically. Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within was just as much of a box office flop. Squaresoft invested so much money in making the film (somewhere around $140m) that they entered into negotiations with Enix for a merger; yet it only grossed $85m worldwide. Someone would need to get the actual numbers/statistics, but I think that Spirits Within was the bigger flop worldwide, although TP definitely comes in at second or third.

True indeed, the trifecta of animated mega-bombs features those two plus Titan A.E.

Though the difference is that Titan A.E. and Treasure Planet are actually good. (With Treasure Planet being the best)

reply

I love Treasure Planet. This movie is so underrated, and deserves a lot of recognition.

TRON: Legacy 2010
End of Line.

reply

Definitely not. Anything from those talentless hacks Friedberg and Seltzer(especially Disaster Movie), Home Alone 4 and Superbabies:Baby Geniuses 2 are much worthier candidates for that title. Just for the record I liked Treasure Planet, by all means it isn't Disney's best but it is a long way from their worst too. I mean the animation is really quite wonderful here.

HELL no. It may not have been as successful as it should've been, but it's still one helluva good movie. Definitely worth a watch.
