Not nearly as strange and horrifying as traveling back in time to go home, and he finds himself in an alternate reality where apes rule OUR modern world. In fact, it's actually worse than the ending to the original film.

He willingly kisses the ape and then moments later, reluctantly accepts a kiss from the delicious Estella Warren, at which point he gives her a dumb look and hurries back to his pod so he can land on another planet and get arrested by even more advanced apes?
