Of course, Diaz has all the personality and charm of a door knob, but you'd think they would surgically implant some personality into the character to make the entire chase more relatable. Unless they were all over-sexed dogs, it makes sense, but if the point is they all fall in love with her, we have a plot hole, ladies and germs. A big gaping one.

No, there are beef frankfurters (like Hebrew National - pretty good hot dog) but many (possibly most?) are a mixture of pork and beef.
What's changed is the establishment of the FDA which dramatically improved the quality and cleanliness of food, and they have pretty tough standards. While we like to poke fun at the manufacture of hot dogs today, they are clean and safe no matter if they're all beef or a mixture of beef and pork.
This film was made for the sort of straight men who don't care about women's personalities, who just want someone good-looking and blonde. For them, the fact that she likes sports as well as being blonde and good-looking makes her their ideal woman!
And that's why I never liked this movie.
Mary is very much the ideal girl. She's gorgeous and easy-going. She didn't seem boring at all. She was kind and bubbly. I can certainly see why they all fell for her.
shareI didn't like her boring goodie two shoes act, like getting offended over anything Pat said, buying food for "special" people and handing it out, buying something else for that other man hanging down by the docks, etc. It was enough to make one gag with her virginal, Miss Perfect act. Who would want to date her? You couldn't ever be raunchy with her, and then, if ever you wanted a quickie, either stupid Tucker would appear or her obnoxious brother! Who cares if she liked sports. There is something about Mary-She's a bore!!
