I liked it. But there were a lot of things about it that I didn't like, but overall, I enjoyed it.
shareI enjoyed this movie. It was certainly more entertaining than Funny Games. That movie was a literal bore-fest for me.

As for the person who says that this movie is a ripoff of Pumpkinhead, how in the Hell is Strangeland a ripoff of that movie? Strangeland is about a psychopathic modern primitive sadist luring people to him via the internet and torturing them, while Pumpkinhead is about a hick farmer getting his son killed in an accident, and then, with the help of a witch, summoning a vengeance demon to wreck havoc on those responsible for his son's death but gets tortured by the visions of their deaths. I don't see how Strangeland ripped off anything from that movie.

No way! I really like this film. They could have showed longer images of the gore, because if you're gonna go there as a filmaker, you shouldn't hold back. But all in all I really am a fan.
shareSick piece of trash that wasn't campy enough to be funny or entertaining. The bit part actors must have had a mortgage or rent payment overdue. Cheap exploitation can be fun if done right, this wasn't.

shareThe awful acting and overly dramatic outbursts are what make this movie good.
It's incredibly funny... Along with the masochistic nature of the story, the over-acted scenes of hatred by the town-folk counter-balance the "reformed" version of CaptWinky, it really is one of the funnier movies I've ever seen.
I liked it a lot.

Love this movie! Saw it in the theatre and have since watched it a sh!tload of times. Like another poster said, not a masterpiece, but it's definantly original. And Dee was a frickin badass! I wish the sequel wasn't "dead in the water" :(

shareNope. I just bought it because Robert was in it. I was LMAOROTF when he did that "dancing" and on the audio commentary Dee Snider said, "Do the Freddy!" Dayum, he was so hot in that, like a 50-year-old Buck from Eaten Alive! I was a bit shocked at first when I saw the "nude scene" though, then I laughed like a kid in sex ed class, then I felt sorry for him when Capt. Howdy was torturing him. He had a great butt and legs. I couldn't get over how long his arms and legs were, like a 50 (I think he was 51?) year old teenager! I sometimes click right to the chapter that it's on and watch it! I got a dirty mind! I liked Dee Snider's comment about Robert "the good sport" Englund!
I also liked the hanging scene ("Hang the son-of-a-bitch!"), and the scene where Jackson is wondering where his daughter is. (*drunk and obnoxious, to is wife* "Gimme the phone!")
Another actor that is soooo drool-worthy (and who also did his nude scene in the dark, that's probably the only reason he would do it!)is Leonard Nimoy. I wouldn't have believed it if I hadn't seen it with my own eyes! Whoo, nice ass! What's more, he had a gorgeous tan! Smart and sexy,what a combination! The movie I'm referring to is Catlow, by the way; you should read the posts on YouTube!
Now I can't wait to watch Blood Oranges and see Charles Dance in the nude! If I thought my heart raced seeing him as Erik in the Phantom of the Opera, fully dressed, I'll probably *die* after seeing him *nude*. Heh-Heh! What a way to go! Hope I haven't corrupted anyone! LOL!
