Would you be willing to appear on The People's Court, if offered?

No freaking way. Not whether I thought I was right, or knew I was wrong. I could never do it. But I am super shy and hate the spotlight. I would never want to be on TV for any reason.

What about you?

No way.

Two scenarios:

I've got a strong case and am confident that I'm going to win. In that case I'd probably would, so I don't have to go through the inconvenience and uncertainty of actually having to collect the judgment. Winning a case is one thing, collecting another.

I think I will lose, or I am not sure of the outcome. Then I might so that I don't actually have to pay. The show pays. If I think the case will show me in an embarrassing light, then of course I wouldn't, but there are apparently lots of people who either don't care about that, or are too stupid, egotistical, or crazy to recognize that.

I've been watching the People's Court since I was a kid in the 1980's. I rarely miss an episode and generally pay about as close attention to the show as Rain Man did. I'm also severely obsessive compulsive. I document everything. I save every receipt, every bill... you name it. I never make oral agreements when a loan is made. I take pictures of everything. Whenever I have felt like someone is doing something that might infringe on the law, I make myself aware of what the law is, including consulting with lawyers online.

That being said, if I had all of the documentation, pictures and was completely certain beyond any doubt that I was right... yeah I would appear on the show. However, as I tend to be obsessive about paying any loans I take right away and documenting any loans I give, I highly doubt it would ever happen.
