Why was James Woods' character before the end and all so abusive towards that priest?
Stopping his van to kick him out and then kick him and then in the hotel room, on one occasion, simply for complaining about his language and asking him to keep order, grab the phone away from him, smack him with that phone and order him what to do and what not to do?
And in the most harrowing sequence, forcing the priest to bite on the towel and then CUTTING HIS HAND (if someone on my team did that to me, I may or may not choose to report them but I would do my best to stay away from that guy at the very least if he cut my hand with a knife whilst making threats at me etc) while he screams in pain etc?
And do you think it took that priest a lot of kindness in his heart and patience of a saint to put up with him after all those moments, especially the hand cutting part, not to mention, slight spoilers, him deciding to save James Woods' character towards the end by shooting that officially evil OTHER priest and slaughtering some vampires himself?
OK I know Woods' character was incredibly stressed, he had a tragic back story about his parents bitten by vampires and whatnot and he even had to kill his father in self defence, he was probably suspecting the priest of hiding something and felt he couldn't get the necessary information out of him without using force but still...
Kicking him out of a van and then kicking him and forcing him to bite on a towel whilst cutting his hand (how did his hand also heal so quickly?) whilst being openly angry at him and almost threatening to kill him, was a bit too much.
I spoke a bit about him pointing a gun towards the end at Baldwin's character.
Would've been somewhat interesting and satisfying if at least once he pointed it at Woods' character and maybe also beat him up at least once, a bit how Ethan Hawke's character ultimately turned on Denzel Washington's one in "Training Day" (2001).
What do we think, thanks.
