The landing on Omaha was good, but I think the FIRST casualties getting it got ruined by the bad focus or water on the lens, you basically see nothing clear and just two shadowed figures and gun fire...!

I feel like that was meant to show the complete insanity and chaos of the Invasion of Normandy. The Allies lost over 10,000 men killed, injured and missing.

Lots of the troops couldn’t even hook up with their own units. It was a real horror show.

I make (and watch) films and never ONCE did the inferior shots take away from the crazy action in that scene. I think it added a feeling of YOU ARE THERE realism with sand and water and blood flying everywhere. Your eyes would be closed and blinking most of the time.
