Doesn't Need to be Remade

I hope they don't remake the trilogy or at least not for another 30 years or so. The trilogy was done quite well and I am glad that they have not remade it in this age of remakes.

I know Amazon is doing a prequel much farther in the past and I think they are doing it the right way. I like that they are doing it much farther in the past so it doesn't destroy the characters or stories that we know or have seen on screen unlike some other franchises like Star Wars. Hopefully it is well done and just adds to the mythology.

That would be an extreme insult, to try and re-make this masterpiece of a trilogy. In fact, I think a lot of people would be extremely angry if some SJW idiot tried to re-make this film series in their own weird, twisted, sick image. It would bomb so bad in the theaters, it wouldn't even be funny.

reply

I don’t know. I wouldn’t mind seeing a new version with a few changes. The remake should not be so biased against orcs like the original clearly is. They need to have an orc character who suddenly decides that orccing around is wrong and they desert Mordor and team up with the good guys.

reply

Lol I could totally see that. An orc defector who helps Sam and Frodo get into Mordor!

reply

It'd be a little funny.

Now, if someone wanted to make us LOTR fans laugh, they should make a movie version of the satirical book "Bored of the Rings." I'd pay to watch that :D

reply

Can you imagine if Mel Brooks did a goof version?

I bet you Peter Jackson has enough respect for Mel that he'd loan out the original props and let him use the Hobbiton sets and stuff - Young Frankenstein style.

reply

That would make it even more awesome :D.

reply

I'd watch it for sure.

The knives would be sharpened ready for any attempt to remake this and the trilogy was such a massive undertaking, taking several years to complete, that I doubt anyone will take it on again any time soon. Too much of a gamble.

reply

Agreed. These films are perfect. and the minimal (as they could) use of cgi mixed in with practical means most still holds up. While The Hobbit already looks dated.

What could they even add?

reply

I agree not to remake it but if they did a different version like this it might work. Some new characters, strange new worlds, different plot points, leave out gollum and orcs and absolutely DON'T overdo it(like what so many sequels end up doing)!

reply

It's "The Hobbit" that needs to be remade!

reply

Sure does.

At this point, they should do it with a whole different studio and vibe. Make it a two-hour one-shot movie, aim it at family audiences, stick with the book, and only trim what needs to be trimmed.

reply

If they were to remake it, I’d prefer they stick closer to the books. Tolkien’s writing was far more pastoral than the films are. However, some films just don’t need to be remade. Ben-Hur is 60 years old and is the definitive version of the story (even though it was itself a remake), the 2016 version was just terrible.

THE BEST TRILOGY OF ILMS ABOUT WALKING EVER!...MAYBE THE REMAKES CAN BE ABOUT JOGGING.

reply

There is no need to remade this in many years. A wonderful trilogy.

reply

*sigh* Not a trilogy. It’s ONE book that the publisher hacked into 3 pieces. *sigh*

reply

If we are speaking about the book is right but if we are speaking about the movies 3 of them were made released in 3 different years. For me it's a trilogy.
