Worst. Movie. Ever.

I heard good things about this movie from a friend and the reviews on this site. Then I saw it, and what can I say, but it's utter schlock. The plot is contrived, the writing is clichéd and the characters are so one-dimensional, I could barely stand to watch the entire film. Roth's performance and the art direction/cinematography are superb, but it can't save a plot that makes Forrest Gump look like a documentary.

A piano duel? Am I supposed to be really excited about that? The winner wasn't clear to me except for the utter predictability that 1900 was supposed to win, because his buddy was sure he wouldn't. On a musical level, all he did was play faster than Jelly Roll Morton. Faster does not equal better.

This is a personal bias, but I prefer to see movies that are all fiction or all history. Mixing a historical figure like Jelly Roll Morton into a fictional world just seems like a cop-out to me.

u r the most retarded person in the world.

if u dont like the movie, that doesn't make it the worst ever.

u only care about the plot..but this movie(story) is not made only for entertainment. the author tried to show what he thinks about the world, his fears and his strength through this story.

the characters aren't one dimensional at all. all of them had something to offer, somemessages hidden behind their emotions.

maybe you are only used to movies that have girls with big boobs where no brain but only manhood is needed.

How sad that you just didn't get it. You missed out.

Sell crazy someplace else. We're all stocked up here.

Bravo. I agree 100%. This movie sucks, absolutely 100%. Garbage. It is a shame, as the set was nice, and the shots were nice, but the acting, the dialogue, even the acting sucks. "A Man who can't Change?" BS. He could have gotten off the boat if he wanted to, he was a coward, that's all. He was an idiot loser.

The scene with the piano rolling around on the ballroom floor (despite the bench not being attached) was the gayest thing I've seen.

The little kid goes up and without ever having even seen a piano, sits and plays it like a master?

The guy sneaks into the women's dorm and finds the girl he likes, then kisses her while she is sleeping? That was waaaay creepy and he would have been kicked off the ship if he was caught.

This was on of the stupidest, poorly written movies I've seen in a long time. They were trying to cash in on the Titanic popularity, that's all.

I rarely write on IMDb, but this movie was so bad I was actually prompted to! That should tell you something. Boring, boring, boring, with awful dialogue & story. Excuse me, I have to go hurl now.

insanely bad movie.

some of your criticisms are inane, especially the last paragraph.

the only upside this movie has is unintentional humor. the reaction shots of the fat *beep* who costars are incredible - it's been a while since i've seen such bad acting in a movie. the one liners said by many characters hilariously bad, generic stuff like "stick this up your ass" said with fervor, how could that not lead to hilarity.

and yes, many of the scenes themselves, such as the piano duel with the lighting of the cigarette which tops it off, are so overly rich in spectacle that they are laughed off the screen by everyone watching.

an astoundingly bad movie, but one of the funniest bad movies i've seen in a while.

I just saw the rating, 7.8? are you kidding me? That's why I don't take seriously IMDB ratings never ever. Rotten Tomatoes offers a more serious and accurate system. Over there, only 54% of the reviews are favorable with an overall rating of 6.2. Meaning: '1900' is Rotten!

"La leggenda del pianista sull'oceano" (The Legend of 1900) is without any doubt one of the cheesiest, schmaltziest, poorly acted and overrated pile of junk that I've ever seen.

What on earth happened to "il signore Tornatore" who directed the marvelous Cinema Paradiso? This movie seems directed by his retarded twin.

BTW "Danny Boodmann T.D. Lemon Nineteen Hundred", hast to be the WORST name for any character in the whole history of cinema.

5/10 and just because the cinematography and music are OK.
