Favorite scene?

One of mine was in the Nocturne with no moon scene with “the girls” father

“life is immense!….can you understand that! …immense”

My favourite scenes were
1. When he saw the girl outside the window and then played for her
2. When he adapted the music to the different persons he saw (really funny!)
3. When he talked to the girl, received the kiss and tried to give her the record

So very many great scenes. But I have to say it was during the duel when he pauses and says "You asked for it a-hole." He says it quietly. Not a threat but in the almost bored monotone telling of a forgone conclusion. And Jelly's reaction shot was priceless.

A beautiful and hauntingly sad movie.

Why settle for the lesser of two evils? Vote Cthulhu!

Mine was the very last scene, as it meant this horrible movie was over and I can start the process of trying to forget I ever saw it. I think I took a shower right away, to wash the stink, saccharine and sap off of me.

Another fantastic scene:
The opening scene where the young immigrant on the ship shouted "America!" and his fellow immigrants suddenly erupted into frenzy upon seeing the Statue of Liberty. It's the perfect time to play Ennio Morricone's music.

That was sad, and I'd forgotten about that great scene. Other than that one, I'm with most others: Max and the wild stormy trip around the ballroom, as 1900 plays as though nothing unusual's happening; and the piano duel, which was absolutely amazing and so brilliantly done.
